From elite gymnastics to workplace vitality — Sabine Bakkum founded VitsAll after discovering how important movement, nutrition and well-being are for sustainable performance. VitsAll helps organizations keep their people energized, resilient and sustainably employable.
Vitality has always been a central theme in my life — not because it became popular later, but because I experienced its importance firsthand from a young age.
My journey began in elite sports, in gymnastics. Every day revolved around training, nutrition and mental focus.
Sport taught me discipline and performance, but also how important recovery, balance and self-awareness are for long-term success.
After my career in elite sports, I stayed close to movement. I trained in the gym and led bootcamp sessions. While teaching, I noticed a recurring frustration among participants: resistance bands that rolled up, snapped or were simply uncomfortable to use.
It was just after the covid period, and people also no longer wanted to share equipment.
That’s when I started looking for a better alternative — and I found it: durable, high-quality resistance bands made of elastic and cotton.
I started personalizing these bands and giving them to clients and friends. What began as a small idea quickly grew into something bigger.
At the time, I was completing my bachelor’s degree in marketing & sales and decided to use my knowledge to build a real brand. That’s how Sbands was born — a sports brand with one mission: making movement comfortable, sustainable and accessible.
But Sbands became more than just a product. It grew into a community of athletes with one shared goal: inspiring people to move more.
We organized sports events, created inspiring online content and saw both the brand — and revenue — grow.
Social media started to take off, and soon we were asked to provide training sessions at sports events, companies and during vitality weeks.
During those vitality weeks, I realized something important: movement is not only important for athletes, but also for employees.
I decided to explore this further during my minor research, which eventually grew into a six- to eight-month study.
I interviewed more than sixty CEOs, HR managers and employees about vitality, workload and sustainable employability.
What I discovered was clear: many organizations value well-being, but struggle to truly embed it into their culture.
That insight became the foundation for VitsAll — a complete vitality solution for organizations, focused on movement, nutrition and well-being.
With an idea and a lot of perseverance, I started building.
After winning the CM.com Pitch Award and pitching at Dragons’ Den in Istanbul, things accelerated quickly.
At networking events, I met Berend Bouwmeester. Together, we began further developing the business plan and assembling a team with strong expertise in vitality and HR innovation.
What started as an idea grew into a platform — and into a shared mission.
Our official mission is on the website, but for me, it’s simple:
“Vitality is not a luxury, but a necessity. People are the engine of every organization, and just like any engine, we need regular maintenance to keep functioning properly.”
Today, VitsAll helps organizations strengthen the physical, mental and emotional vitality of their employees — through science, connection and collaboration with trusted partners.
Vitality is not just what we do.
It is who we are.
